firenze & venezia

we had three days in firenze, although i don’t have much in the way of pictures to show for it... mostly, i think, because i seemed to spend an awful lot of time shopping... & venezia is just freaky weird... filthy, & stinky in parts, & infested with people & the tackiest gift shops this side of kings cross, but somehow still effortlessly transcendent... the interior of the cathedral of san marco is covered with the most incredible mosaics... it was far & away my favourite of all the cathedrals i visited...
