okinawa — & some photos from our okinawa trip, had a great time just kicking back & unwinding… may add some words at a later date… in the meantime, apologies to anyone who isn’t on some kinda broadband… hell, at some point i might even add photos of all the souvenir shisas i couldn’t seem to stop buying…
i bet i did one thing you didn’t do today — hands up everyone who sat through a two hour road safety lecture… in japanese… that’s what i thought… it takes a special dedication to belabouring the point to stretch “if you drink & drive you’re a bloody idiot” into a two hour presentation, but the avuncular man at the samezu driver’s licence centre managed it without even raising a sweat… (on the plus side, after two hours of intermittent flashes of comprehension, my driver’s licence renewal form received the stamp to confirm i attended the seminar, which meant i could finally, finally, finally exchange said form for a shiny renewed licence… barely three hours after i first set foot on the premises! did i mention i got to watch a 30 minute soap opera-esque “driver education” video on the perils and possible consequences of driving under the influence that was bad beyond belief? in hindsight, i probably should have realised i was being set up when getting through the first five steps of the seven step Renew Your Licence process only took fifteen minutes…)
