a big hello — to everyone i owe email (at last count, pretty much everyone i know)… sorry about that… been working long hours (&, you know, who woulda thunk it, but you would not believe how much actual work you can get done if you don’t spend more than half your day emailing your friends &/or aimlessly surfing the web…) i’m not sure if this means i’m getting smart, boring, or old, or some combination of the three… anyway, i’ve been getting home kinda late & finding the last thing i wanna do is sit at the computer… i keep thinking i should set things up so i can blog from my phone, but so far, no…

a word about earthquakes — woah! (we were in nasu on the weekend when the first quakes hit niigata… & yeah, woah… the rumbling & the shaking… a little disconcerting… didn’t stop us going hiking on the mountain in the morning, or catching the shinkansen back to tokyo, but still…)

two more words about earthquakes — holy crap! ( i was sitting at my desk on the thirtieth floor at roppongi hills when we got one of the big aftershocks a couple of days later… you’d be surprised how much of your attention is grabbed by watching the city sway back & forth…)

anyway — i have some photos & various nonesuch to post should i ever find the time… in other brief news: i gotta signed contract until the end of january; last week was cold, this week not so much so far; bought some new clothes; joined the gym; been to a couple of onsen; generally carrying on with general carryings on…
