flash! i love you! but we’ve only 20 days to save the earth!
possible snafu alert — you may or may not be able to see all, some or none of a little flash thing just below this paragraph… keri can’t seem to see the flash movie in netscape on her old mac… (she can see part of it, but not all…) a bug in the movie, or a problem with an older version of the plug-in? i can see it okay in ie & navigator on two PCs… i’ll check it out & see if i can’t figure out whatever’’s wrong… hmmm… will updating to the latest flash player fix it?
so yeah — so i’m figgerin’ some stuff out… but will i figure enough stuff out in time to get my project built by the 29th…? i guess i’ll just hafta keep diggin’ & see what happens…
one good thing — actionscript (flash’s built-in scripting language) is based on javascript, so i’m not starting completely from scratch… still gotta lot to learn about constructing movies, & figgerin’ out the best way to structure things, & how best to import things from fireworks, &, well, just heaps of stuff… but i’m a lot more optimistic now than i was at eight o’clock last night… <grin>
oops — okay, fixed one problem… the flash.swf works much better when its URL points to the right directory on the dogcomServer instead of the (inaccessible to everyone except me & my dialup connection) folder on speedpig@home… doh…
what the…? of course, blogger would hafta be down for maintenance, making it impossible to fix the problem straightaway… double doh… <grin>
nyuh-wuzza-uhh-nyuh — but gosh, any halfbrain with an ftp client & a text editor could probably grab the page & fix the faulty URL, right? triple doh…
i can’t help but think — my horoscope might’ve been more convincing with the whole art-supplies-into-career bit if it hadn’t chosen the day my first flash experiment refused to work cross-platform…
Anything artistic, glam or sophisticated is where you should be looking to making loads of dough. Using your creativity on a regular basis is an increasing urge for you. It’s monotony to perform the same tasks in the same tasks day after day. Carve out an hour each day for sheer imaginative pursuits. Whilst you’re at it, invest in some art supplies as you can turn what you enjoy into a career.
hmmm… mebbe i should just bow to the inevitable & start ramping up the glam, whatever that means…
